How do I register for services?

  • All MBRU staff, students and Residents and DHCC staff and community are eligible to register for services. Patron registration forms are available at the library or via the website and can be downloaded and forwarded to the Library. A passport size photo and ID are required for registration. Library cards will be issued upon registration.

How do I log in to use e-resources?

  • Log in using your user ID and PIN/Password assigned by the Library

Is there a fee for registration?

  • There is currently no registration fee to use the Library.

Can members of the public use the Library?

  • All are welcome to use the Library and its facilities. Visitors are required to provide photo id.

How do I borrow from the library?

  • You must be a registered user to borrow from the Library. Please check the Information desk for more information or email the Library at Items may be checked out at the Information desk or via the Self Check out counter

How do I do self check out?

  • Self check out guidelines are available at the self check out counter, or ask for assistance at the Information desk

Where do I return books?

  • Books may be returned in the Book drop available at the entrance of the Library or at the Information desk.

How can I get help to use the Library’s resources?

  • Library staff are available to assist and direct patrons. A Librarian is assigned to handle all reference queries.Training sessions are also available for registered patrons. Updates on training are available on the Library portal.

How can I find articles?

  • Search the Library’s A-Z Journal Title list for journals. Search the Library Catalogue using the Discovery Search to locate Journal articles. Additionally articles may be sourced using the Open Access resources listed under Useful resources.

How do I request a journal article not available?

  • This service is available for MBRU and the DHCC Staff and Residents. Inter Library Loan may be requested on the form available.

How do I suggest a title?

  • Titles of resources may be suggested using the Feedback/Comments form available in the Library or on the Website or Suggest a resource option on the Library’s search portal.

How can I register for library training and orientation?

  • Registered Patrons may register for training here (register) or by contacting the library at

Are photocopying facilities available?

  • Black and white printing services are available for MBRU Staff and Students within the acceptable use policy.

Can I bring Coffee or Tea in the Library?

  • Coffee and Tea may be consumed in sealed containers. Food is not allowed in the Library. Cafeteria facilities, vending machines and Lounge are available in the first floor and Ground Floor

Can I reserve a Group Study Room?

  • Group study rooms are available for MBRU Students and Faculty. Rooms may be booked at the library information desk. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis

Can I reserve a meeting room?

  • Two meeting rooms are available in the Library and equipped with state-of-the-art AV facility. AMML registered Members may book by clicking the following link, Book A Meeting Room

Are there designated quiet areas?

  • The Library has one designated Quiet study area. Two individual study rooms are also available on the second floor.

How can I renew book online?

Can I check out periodicals or reference items?

  • Reference resources and Journals are not available for loan, these may be consulted in the Library..

How can I connect my laptop to the Library wireless network?

  • Information Desk staff will provide the username and password. Library Staff will also assist you to configure Wireless network options on your laptop or any other mobile devices.

I need to install a program onto one of the library computers, how can I do this?

  • You may consult with Library IT to install a program on the Library Computers, however it will automatically delete when the computers turn off.

How do I search for a book?

  • The Library catalog is the starting point of all book searches in the Library. Patrons may search by Keyword, Title, Author, Subject, and ISBN. Library Staff are available at the Information Desk to help locating books in the Library ‘s Collection

How do I find books on the shelf?

  • Consult the Library OPAC for the Location code to find a book. The Library uses the National Library of Medicine Classification Scheme to arrange books in Subject specialties. Shelf Guides are available on the book stacks for ease of reference.

How do I search for online articles?

  • The best place to start is Discovery Search which searches most of the Library resources at onetime. You may click on the following link for the guide, How to find an online article.
    A Librarian is assigned to assist in selecting the most relevant database and using effective search strategies to find literature.

How do I search for electronic books (e-books)?

  • The Library Catalog contains all subscribed electronic books with links directly to the resource. You may also limit your search to electronic books by clicking on the advanced search tab and selecting Material type as eBooks. You may directly access eBooks collections from ClinicalKey, Springer, Informa etc. by clicking on the Database quick links available on the Library website.

Can I print articles in the Library?

  • Printing and photocopying facilities are available in the Library, limits of 10 pages per session are in effect.

Is there any Citation Manager software available on the Library workstations?

  • EndNote Citation manager software is available on all the Library Computers

Can I save documents on the Library Computers?

  • Any documents saved on the C drive will automatically be deleted when the computer turns off. You may copy the documents on any external hard drives or copy to the temporary folder available on the T Drive. Consult with the Library Staff for assistance.
